Armistice Day 2019

Again we attended Armistice Day in London.
This time with more preparation.
We went by bus!!

It was supposed to be an uneventful night ride,
but instead it was an eventful mess.
In Antwerp someone literally ran against the bus.
In a reflex he ran away, back to the pavement,
where the paramedics attended to him.
His face was badly injured.

In the bus a woman fell,
just a few cm from the iron lining
of the step to the chairs.
She was unconscious for a short moment,
and not attentive to her surroundings for an hour.
She had hurt her hand.
The attending paramedic,
quite arrogant, lacking empathy and anything else,
didn't even bother to look at her,
as she didn't want to go to emergency.
None asked why.
So she might have been afraid of the cost,
or needed to be in England at a certain time.
As people put in their bit, the paramedic got irritated.
When someone said that maybe some ice would help,
he almost ran off...

A woman in the top of the bus was very emotional,
as she'd seen it all happen.
The window in the front was broken,
but as it was two layered and the second layer was still alright,
we could drive on.

We missed the connection with the shuttle,
had to cancel our breakfast and meeting at the club,
and arrived at Victoria Coach Station
far less rested than expected.

After a far too long walk,
(now I love the Underground even more)
we arrived at security,
without a wait of 1,5 hour....
well, with a tremendous long wait, but in the area.
With food and drinks in our bags.

Almost looks like a painting.

Well, let's say I would love to design
some new uniforms,
and find out
if they can stand in a rest position
that is less burdening the female body.

and I will add
some nice fitting hats,
and a proper head position.

Sun!!!!

And then all the camera's, phones, got up.
I used to be the only one with a stretched arm.

You are right,
the Queen was not presenting a wreath.
But she was there.
I could see her hat.

Nice hat!
