Had an interesting night.
We expected H. at about 1.30
and he was in time.
From far we could hear:
'clock, clock, clock'
Of his wooden shoes on the iron road.

I slept within a few minutes,

Woke up a few times because it was freezing,
and wasn't able to get warm.
So got up and went outside to the loo
in my cardigan. Made the bed feel warm!
Mission accomplished.

Again we were up and around before dawn.
Had some moisture in my camera.

Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds.
Two air currents of varying speeds are meeting
in the atmosphere.

The clouds are named after
Lord Kelvin and Hermann von Helmholtz.
The two physicists studied
the disturbance caused by the velocity of two fluids.
The resulting instability causes the breaking wave formation,
both in the ocean and the air.
This is also known as Kelvin-Helmholtz Instability (KHI).
The latin name is fluctus.

It's a warning sign for pilots and parachutists,
as it indicates an area of turbulence.
The lower aircurrent is cooler and dryer and slower.

A Cessna!

The first para, at the right, is my son.
The fastest para is very experienced,
and landed safe and sound as the first one.

Two photos merged to see
the influence of the wind.
